Heatless type Dessicant Dryers

For applications requiring much lower dew points than +2°C, dessicant based compressed air dryers are preferred. The compressed Air gets dried by passing through a packed bed of dessicant, which adsorbs water vapours. After a fixed time, the compressed air stream is directed through another packed bed of dessicant while dessicant in first bed is regenerated. The drying and regeneration continues in cyclic manner. There are various methods of regeneration leading to various designs in dessicant dryers. Dew points as low as these dryers can achieve -40°C to -80°C. Regeneration in these dryers is carried out be expanding a portion of dry air to near atmospheric pressure and purging the other dessicant bed. The moisture is removed and dessicant regenerated. It is now ready for drying of air once again. Purge air loss is main disadvantage in these dryers.

  1. Rated flow capacity is for a 5+5 minute cycle dryer having -40°C dew point operating at 7 kg/cm2g. For any change in pressure & dew point, ask for our sizing chart for heatless dryers or consult our application engineers.
  2. Dryers with higher maximum working pressure are available on request.
  3. For any different end connections, please specify. Flanged connections shall be as per ANSI 150#RF.
  4. Models specified above are floor mounted. Wall mounted models are available upto 42 Nm3/hr(25 cfm).
  5. Heatless dryers with rated capacities above 510 Nm3/hr (300 cfm) are available on request.
